Campus Cutie: Lindsey Perry

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

1. Tell me about yourself! What year and major are you, do you have any siblings and pets, etc!

I’m a third year Materials Science and Engineering Major and Art History Minor. I’m from Lake Forest, CA (down in the OC). I have one sister who is 11 years older than me and she already has two girls who are 4 and 2 years old. I love playing with my nieces! I also have 2 dogs and 2 cats.

2. If you could have a theme song play whenever you walked into a room, what would it be?
Hhhmm you ask the hard hitting questions. I don’t know if this really describes my life, but I think I would be a much happier person if “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons played during the day!
3. Do you have a favorite spot on campus, and if so what is it? If not, you can get creative and suggest another spot on campus because what’s a little more construction upon the existing abundance we have?
Well I can usually be found in Engineering 5 but that’s not by choice most of the time… I like the Sculpture Garden (I know, super cliche). But a place that I actually spend time in is Fowler. Other than that we have a free museum RIGHT ON CAMPUS, the basement is home to the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology and my archaeomaterials research group (which focuses on art conservation techniques). Everything and everyone down there is ridick cool and straight outta National Geographic.

4. What is your favorite way to exercise or be outdoors?
I like to do a lot of different things. I play lacrosse for the UCLA team and I’ve been playing since I started high school. I also played soccer (before I tore my ACL… the first time). I really like competition! Even though I hate running, somehow I’ve mustered the energy to train for and run two half marathons (the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco – it’s in October every year and super fun! If you’re a college student, you NEED to look into it). This past year I’ve gotten really into yoga – anything from hot yoga in a studio to a park on the beach in Laguna Beach. It’s super relaxing and actually nice to do something just for my own well being. The latest thing I’ve gotten into is rock climbing – so far just indoors but I want to get outside (after I’ve recovered from my very recent second ACL tear… blerg). I can’t pick a favorite! As long as I’m doing it with friends I’ll have a good time!

5. Summer is quickly approaching (can I get a hallelujah), what are you looking forward to the most about it?!
Being back in the OC! Since I’m recovering form knee surgery I’m looking forward to being back home, hanging out with my sister and nieces. I’ll probably take summer classes at UC Irvine (not looking forward to that so much… lolz). I can’t wait to hang out with my friends at home!… even though I’ll really miss a certain HerCampus writer! I think I’ll need to do a roadtrip to NorCal!
