7 Times Your Best Friend was Better than a Date

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and it’s a day to celebrate love. Common misconception: it’s only for couples and single people need to be bitter and sad all day, but it’s not. Use this day to show your love for your family and friends if you don’t have a significant other in your life. Even if you do, it’s never wrong to tell those you love that you love them.

But for anyone who is a little down about not having a date on Feb. 14, here are a few times your best friend beat any dinner and a movie:

1. You can just be so honest and she won’t judge you.

2. She will even join you in all of your weirdness.

3. When you tell her embarrassing stories, she always has one to one-up you and make you feel less awkward.

4. And if you want to indulge in an entire cheesecake when your date doesn’t call you back, she fully endorses the idea.

5. Because she knows this old adage by heart…

6. And she will always be there to pick you up when you’re down.

7. And for that, you love her forever.
