7 Reasons You Can’t Help But Adore “Jane the Virgin’s” Rogelio de La Vega

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Rogelio de La Vega is the characteristic telenovela star of “Jane the Virgin’s” show-within-a-show The Passions of Santos.” He lives up to the dramatic nature of his character on and off screen, and is exceptionally savvy with social media. Rogelio’s self-indulgence is definitely one of his most fruitful qualities, but nonetheless his humor, compassion, and honesty make him one of the most lovable characters on the show.

Here are some of his most characteristic moments:

1) The joy Rogelio gets from material possessions:

2) That time Jane didn’t come home and Rogelio decided to use his super stardom to track her down:

3) The time he channeled “Drake and Josh’s” Josh Nichols by repeating himself for *dramatic* emphasis:

4) When he granted his magic powers on Xiomara:

5) When he was utterly shocked that someone could have the audacity to call HIM dramatic:

6) Let’s not forget his compassion for Jane and her dream to become a writer:

7) And the fact that his ex-stepdaughters still hold a special place in his heart:
