This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

And the Award goes to… Her Campus Craftaholics!

This year win your own award alongside Hollywood’s biggest stars as you host your very own Oscar party! Whether you’ve hosted one before or you’re a rookie, this guide will help add some glitz and glam to an already exciting night.

1.Red Carpet Ready

Before the big night starts, the stars always walk down the illustrious red carpet. Although you don’t have to dress#OscarWorthy, let your friends know to come dressed up! You can even dress up as some of your favorite movie characters ( Emma Stone in La La Land anyone?)

To DIY your own red carpet simply buy a few packets of red plastic table cloths from your local dollar store, and set them outside ; or set it up inside and create a backdrop for your best pose.

2. The Concession Stand

No movie experience is complete without some buttery popcorn and junior mints, or whatever your favorite candy is. A self serve snack bar is sure to take the award for best idea of the night! Let your guests chooses their favorite snacks before the show starts!

3) A Night of …Bingo?

A popular game to play during the Oscar’s is filling out a ballot to try and predict the night’s winners. One of our favorite games to play is Oscar Bingo! Have guests make their own custom bingo sheets or print your own, you’ll be able to find plenty f templates that range from generic to relevant to this year’s Oscars.

4) And the Award Goes too…

What an Oscar party without having the chance to also go home with an award. There’ll always be nominees for best dressed ( you can even make funny awards like “Most likely to be sleeping”). You can stop by your local party store and grab as many small statuettes as possible to hand out later that night. You could also get creative and write the awards on balloons for the most instagrammable picture.

5) Flashing Lights!

No party is complete without a group photo! Recreate some of these photo frames to immortalize the highs and lows of the night! Good Luck!
