Her Campus Celebrity: Kathryn Tromba

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Meet Her Campus UCF Social Media director, Kathryn Tromba. She’s way too humble to brag about any of her numerous accomplishments, so I’ll do it for her. Just to name a couple, she’s been published by USA Today and has interned with Cosmopolitan AND Seventeen Magazine. She’s creative, original and the coolest person I know. Learn a little bit more about this future Mrs. Zayn Malik.

Year? Major?

Senior, Interpersonal and Organizational Communication with a minor in Magazine Journalism

Hometown:

Clearwater, FL

When and how did you get involved with Her Campus?

I first started with Her Campus when I was a sophomore! I joined the staff as a contributing writer but switched to the social media fall of my junior year when there was an open position for Twitter Manager. Now I’m the Social Media Director.

What do you like to do with your free time?

I enrolled in a Page Design course this semester and have become an Adobe InDesign nerd ever since. Other than that, I’m obsessed with hot yoga, the beach, concerts and hanging out with my peeps.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Awkward, ambitious, indecisive.

What are your plans after graduation?

I want to move back up to New York and work as a marketing designer for a magazine. (NYLON, hire me.)

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Hopefully I’ll be where I want to be career-wise. I’d love to be the photo or art director at a magazine. It also wouldn’t hurt to be living in my dream apartment in NYC doing cute little crafts in my free time with my boyfriend/hubby/cats.

Any advice for underclassmen who want to get involved?

Most people say, “It’s never too late to get involved,” but I think it’s never too early. I wish I had joined Her Campus my freshman year because it opened the door to so many opportunities! I’d tell them to apply for everything and anything that interests them, even if it’s not directly related to their career goals or major.

Favorite memory from UCF?

This question is impossible to answer; I can’t choose just one

Favorite memory during college?

This question is also impossible to answer. I think all the adventures and trips I went on with my friends hold some of my favorite college memories.
