Miami, FL When and how did you start working with HC? At the end of my sophomore year, I felt I needed to get involved with something on campus to help further my career. I heard Her Campus UCF was having a Zumba event, so I went on the Facebook page to check it out. Lo and behold, they were looking for a Social Media Manager for the fall semester. I started out as a Facebook Manager for one semester, Twitter Manager for another, and will be ending my yearlong term as the Social Media Director in April. Talk about “moving on up!” READ MORE

University of Central Florida graduate and Orlando native, Julia Pierson, was named the new director of the United States Secret Service. Knights, get ready to bask in the awesomeness of our campus celebrity! Julia Pierson earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from UCF in 1981 and worked at the Orlando Police Department until joining the Secret Service in 1983.
