It’s football season and with the UCF Knights on a hot streak, everyone needs to know how to tailgate (and then celebrate) in style. Next time you head out to Memory Mall on game day be sure to have the best tailgate around by following these 7 simple steps.

Decorate

A little décor goes a long way to set one tent apart from the rest. Show school spirit and individuality at the next tailgate and use a decorative tablecloth, some colorful garlands, and tapestries to decorate your tailgate space.

Hang something above your tent like balloons or a spirit totem to show your friends where your group is located out on Memory Mall.

Games

Of course every good tailgate needs some good ol’ fashion party games. Cornhole, frisbee, beer pong, 500 and flip cup are fun games to bring people together and get everyone excited.

Take your tailgate to the next level with Bear Pong, the supersized, tailgate-friendly version of everyone’s favorite game, played without a table!

Good Food

Good food is an essential part of the tailgating experience! Do it potluck style and have everyone contribute something, and make sure there’s something for everyone!

Include appetizers, snacks, small meal plates and desserts. Extra props for cooking with a football theme or school spirit!

Come prepared

Know your plan of action. You don’t want to forget the essentials like the E-Z UP, cooler, chairs, trash bags, disposable flatware, plates, napkins plus some hand sanitizer! Make a Facebook event to coordinate who’s bringing what, or check out the Our Tailgate platform to organize the ideal tailgate!

Playlists

Don’t forget the music to set the mood for your perfect tailgate! Throw on some dance tunes, party songs, throwbacks and crowd favorites and be your own DJ.

A Variety of Drinks

A case of beer isn’t the only beverage that should be in that cooler. Having a variety of drinks will keep everyone happy, plus playing bartender is always fun.

Be sure to pack plenty of water, mixers and ice. And don’t forget extra cups!

Friends

Everything is better with a big group of friends, and that includes a tailgate. As soon as you set up your spot, make friends with your neighbors. They could be your new best friends!
