What to Give to Your Friends and Family

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

As the holidays quickly approach us, getting gifts for the people you know and love can become a bit of an annoyance. Giving is supposed to be fun, but sometimes, you just don’t know what to buy. Here are some gift suggestions for (most of) the people in your life.

1. For your parents…

Buy it here.

Honestly, parents love any gift you get them. Plus, they understand you’re in college and don’t have a lot of money to spend. This slow cooker is only $14, but it will give your parents more time to spend with you, since they won’t have to worry about making dinner. With this, they can just throw their assortment of ingredients in and be out of the kitchen for a while.

2. For your sibling…

Buy them here.

Honestly, while they may seem like the dullest gift in the world, socks are amazing. And you can never have too many, especially fuzzy, warm socks. I would personally love to receive a pair, and you can’t really go wrong with this gift. Nothing says sibling love like fun socks.

3. For your significant other…

Buy it here.

You and your significant other have shared many special memories, so why not give them a beautiful picture frame (with a special photograph in it) for them to keep in their room? With this gift, they are able to look at both of you together at any time.

4. For your best friend…

Buy them here.

Hello, what do college students use the most? Netflix, Uber, Starbucks, etc. Give your best friend a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants, or pay for their uber, or treat them to a movie. Any gift card is always appreciated.

5. For your roommate…

Buy it here.

We all want to decorate our dorms in any way that we can. Having a plant right on your desk can cheer you up and even distract you from school stress for a little, especially if it’s in a cute planter.
