The Most Instagram-Worthy Spots at UC Davis

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

While the city of Davis is decorated with murals and strung with lights, our campus itself is home to many artsy buildings and distinctive spots that are perfect for any photoshoot. After all, we all know that what lurks in the background of the frame can truly make or break a photo. Here are my top Instagram-worthy spots on campus for a divine picture-taking experience:

1. Cruess Hall

It’s no surprise that the design hall is a hot spot for cool art to incorporate into photos. The walls are quite literally lined with all things pop culture — just some of the murals include a Hotline Bling Drake, Miley Cyrus swinging from her wrecking ball, Kurt Cobain, The Wizard of Oz’s Tin Man, and many, many more.

2. Veihmeyer Hall

Located next to the Plant & Environmental Sciences building, Veihmeyer Hall is decked out in ivy and rusty faded colors that will serve as perfect backdrops for your photos.

3. The Deathstar

Though it may just look like a boring cement building, the complicated design of the Deathstar allows ideal lighting at all times of the day.

4. The Arboretum

I know it’s obvious, but us Davis students are lucky to have such a beautiful arboretum on campus, so take advantage of it! There are limitless amounts of places in the arb to take earthy pictures.

5. Meyer Hall

Meyer Hall is complete with glass bridges and defined symmetrical lines that will add depth to your photos. Also, the field right next to Meyer Hall is a great place for pictures, especially when the lighting is just right.
