This past summer I spent a lot of time working in Los Angeles and in my free time I did my best to soak in the all the culture, art and music LA had to offer. So I like to believe running into this band was no accident. The first time I stumbled upon Los 5 was in the streets of Hollywood Boulevard. But if you attended summer concerts of names such as Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, 5 Seconds of Summer and One Direction, then chances are you may have stumbled upon their music! They played outside these large venues after the show during their “Sidewalk After Show Tour”! These “guerilla warfare” sidewalk shows, as they like to call it, was a way for them to spread the word and the love with their music.

Their unique sound and undeniable charm stems from band members Juan Pablo (lead singer), Matias Rey (Rapper), Izmael Cano (Guitar) Hector Rodriguez (Bass) and Tomas De Paula Slemenson (drums). Los 5 has been signed with Virgin Records and according to their official Snapchat, they are currently planning their album. As their Twitter Bio states they are “Waving the flag of love, leading an army of positivity” and much of their music reflects those same messages. But don’t take it from me, below is a video from their most recent show at The Mint LA performing their single “Mexico” which you can also get on iTunes.
Although they are a young band, they are on the verge of something big. Each of these guys are so amazingly talented and this talent is definitely apparent when they perform live. So now that you watched the live video and you’re in complete utter obsession, you’ll be happy to know that they have a web series entitled “Los Videos”. The thread of videos gives their fans an inside look on their journey as the boys follow their dreams.
