Spring Splash is only a few days away (May 4th) and we know you are all excited to see the artists: AB Soul, Walk the Moon, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz. Some of the attractions for Spring Splash include the following:

The Media and Cultural Studies First Annual Student Film Festival and Competition is just a few days away as well! The event takes place on May 15th and there are 11 submissions for the festival. This sounds like an amazing opportunity to support your local students with some of their work. Best of all, it is FREE for UCR students and $5 for non- ucr students, which is still a good price. So please go and support your fellow Highlanders!
Lastly, the annual New Play Festival is back at UCR and the Theatre Department is working hard for these plays to be a success. There are two plays and they are called We Were Here and The Hystericals. We Were Here is based in 1940’s, and deals with women who fight for sanity, peace and friendship in the solace of a good job during World War II. The Hystericals is more of a non-conservative play and is about a pack of Goddess worshippers who descend upon the conservative town of Midland. And a young woman discovers an empowering, new, sexual identity despite her religious father’s attempts to prevent it. We Were Here performances are on the 9th, 11th and 17th of May. The Hystericals will run on the 10th, 16th, and 18th of May. Both plays are FREE for UCR students! The Theatre department is getting ready for their first performance next week so go and support by seeing one or both of these amazing plays!
