5 New Pieces to Add to Your Fall Fashion Wardrobe: College Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Irvine chapter.

Along with the same pumpkin spice lattes that are promoted in fall year after year, autumn brings yet another cycle of the same look among students on campus: an oversized sweater, leggings, and a pair of combat boots. This year, why not change up your wardrobe? Here are 5 new pieces that can shake up any fall outfit.

1.       Mock Turtlenecks

Mock turtlenecks are the perfect mix between your cozy turtle-neck and jewel-neckline long-sleeve. Wear yours with a pair of fitted trousers or jeans along with a simple necklace. This is a look that will definitely add a unique, polished style to any fall look.

2.       Midi skirts

Looking for the perfect skirt for the transition between summer and winter? Midi skirts offer the right balance for a beautiful autumn day. This chic, feminine piece can be dressed up or down depending on its color scheme and pattern. For a cozier look, pair your midi skirt with a light sweater or cardigan and a pair of ankle boots.

3.       High-Waisted Trousers

In the summer heat, high-waisted shorts were essential to any outfit, but as the temperature begins to drop, it is time to replace those shorts with high-waisted trousers. (Yes, high-waisted pants are coming back!) These can be paired with a cropped sweater or long-sleeve blouse of your choice.

4. Oversized Blazers

With a morning chill just starting to pick up, you will need a jacket that will keep you warm and toasty. Oversized blazers can do just that while adding a new sense of style to your outfit! Wear yours with a fitted pair of leggings and a light top. From day to night, these blazers can dress up your look for any occasion.

5.       Loafers

Tired of wearing your fall boots every day? A pair of lady loafers is a great way to add a polished style to your outfit. Brown, black, burgundy, or mustard loafers are perfect for the autumn season. These versatile pieces can easily be paired with a pair of fitted trousers or a skirt along with a light sweater.

This autumn, walk into your lectures and meetings with these trendy new looks. Mix it up and make it your own unique style.
