Outfits Inspired by Cal

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

Inspired by the Campanile
At 307 feet, The Campanile cannot be missed on campus.  With its tall, gray brick walls, this structure is Cal’s most recognizable symbol.  A sleek and sophisticated outfit is the perfect choice to represent the Campanile.

Inspired by the Free Speech Movement Café
This café was made to commemorate the Free Speech Movement that occurred from 1964-1965. The Free Speech Movement fought against the campus’s ban of on-campus political activity while promoting students’ rights to free speech and academic freedom. The perfect outfit to represent the FSM café is something flowy with a strong hippy vibe.

Inspired by Sproul
During protests Sproul is the main place where students like to assemble and speak their minds. The stage-like area in front of Sproul Hall is the perfect location for speakers to address the crowds of students. On calmer days Sproul hosts various student groups tabling and flyering to attract more members. Sproul is at the heart of campus where people from all interests come together. Outfits representative of Sproul should mix colors and patterns to symbolize the diversity of views and interests that can be found at UC Berkeley.

Inspired by College Ave
With its cute cafes and trendy boutiques, College Avenues is the street to be on if you’re looking for some delicious food or something special to wear. It’s the perfect place to go to relax, sip some coffee, and type away on your laptop. The ideal outfit for College Ave is something on the more preppy side yet eclectic enough to represent the diverse range of stores that the street has to offer.
