This week’s campus celebrity has to be the new Student Union Center on Sproul. This beautiful building opened up this fall, after being under construction for several years. This is my third year at UC Berkeley and I don’t remember a time when the building wasn’t under construction. I never experienced the student store on campus (instead it was across the street), or the multiple lounge sites which fill the center. I think I can confidently say that the building was worth waiting for, although they have only opened up about half of the first and bottom floor. I’m excited to see the further development of this building and hope that more will be opened during my last two years here. The center is equipped with a UC Berkeley student store, café, and an eatery on the bottom floor which serves burgers fries and much more! Not to mention the multitude of outlets, tables and comfy chairs. I know I’ll be spending a lot of fall semester here! For more info about the new ASUC Student Union check out their page!
