This week’s campus celebrity is newly elected ASUC President: Pavan Upadhyayula.
After campaigning for a while, it was announced that Student Action candidate, Pavan Upadhyayula won the 2014-15 ASUC Presidential election. Throughout his campaigning, Upadhyayula connected thoroughly with students to spread his message and gain votes. He even reserved a day to take pictures with students who supported him, take a look.
Now that we have a new ASUC President, it is important to understand his platform and his plans for the next school year. Upadhyayula platforms consist in changing campus culture of competition to one of collaboration. He wants to improve student life and safety after many reports of crime on campus. As president, Upadhyayula also wishes to keep the campus and the ASUC as transparent as possible.
