5 Things To Do On Cal Day

It’s that time of the year again, the day that our beautiful campus gets to showcase all its beauty and potential to Berkeley’s community, prospective students, current students, kids and families. The day we like to call: Cal Day!! This Saturday, April 12, 2014, UC Berkeley will be hosting its annual open house where a million stories will be created. It’s a day to just have fun and celebrate all things are campus has to offer. Now, if you are not aware of Cal Day don’t worry, we have compiled 5 awesome things to do on this awesome day. Check them out!!!

1. Start your day with some yoga!

There will be two free beginners yoga classes for those that are interested and just want to relax. Yoga mats and blankets will be provided!!
   1st class: 10:00-10:45 am    
   2nd class:11:00-11:45 am    
   Location: 251 Hearst Gymnasium

2. Nobel Minds: A Conversation with UC Berkeley’s Most Honored Professors

Chancellor Nicholas B. Dirks will be gathering some of the most notable Nobel laureates that UC Berkeley so proudly has in one room to discuss the role of science in modern society and how scientific methods can be applied to global issues. This is a great event if you are interested in science and just listening to some of the most intellectual minded individuals that UC Berkeley has produced. 
 Time: 3:00-4:30 pm    
 Location: Wheeler Auditorium 

3. Hear the Cal Band!

One of the must see things during Cal Day is watching the majestic and talented University of California Marching Band perform. The band is our pride and joy and a real treat for the audience. Make sure to come see them perform near Sather Gate starting at 10:30am.

4. Tour the Haas School of Business

 
Tour one of the best business schools in the country, the Haas School of Business. Starting at 10:00 am. make sure to make your way up to the Bank of American Forum where the tour will begin. You are entitled to either a self-guided or student guided tour of the magnificent facilities Haas has to offer. 
 
5.  Kids Zone Sponsored by ASUC and Alpha Phi Omega for kids
 
 
If you have children or just feel like a kid, make sure to make your way to Memorial Glade from 10:00 am-3:00 pm for some awesome fun and games!!
