5 Tips to Stay on Top of your Courses this Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UBC chapter.

1. Listen to the professor in class. Some give hints on what is coming up in the midterm and others don’t even post their slides on connect so it is important to keep going to lectures every week.

2. Get an agenda: be it on your phone, paper or tablet, write down everything you have coming up so you can get ahead of assignments and activities.

3. Keep motivated and remember why you are doing what you are doing. Keep in mind that at the end of this, you will have earned a degree.

4. What has helped me more than writing in a notebook is making a Google doc and listening to the lectures and writing down any relevant information. It is faster and you can access it at any time.

5. If you have any question in the middle of the lecture, write that question down somewhere so you can ask afterward to your professor, TA or friends to get an explanation.
