What to Wear (and How to Prepare) for Final Exams!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UAB chapter.

Studying for finals can seem really overwhelming. Let’s face it, you were on Pintrest and Facebook the entire semester, and you need an A on the final. Since I’m the queen of procrastination, I’m using tips and tricks that have helped me look and feel my best during final’s week (since that’s the time I have to shine).

1. Get AWESOME school supplies. Cute highlighters, pens, bookmarks, and a backpack will make the idea of lugging all 10,000 of your books to pull an all-nighter at the library MUCH more appealing. Set up camp in a cozy corner at Club Sterne and get cracking. If you’re writing a paper, talk to the librarians or go to the English Writing Center. I’m an English major, and they’ve helped me turn out some of my best papers.

2. Take care of your body. Get 8 hours of sleep (I know, what’s that?), it’ll help your mind focus on studying and not how much you’d rather be wrapped in your comforters. Eat healthy, nutrient-rich foods like turkey wraps with avocado and fresh fruit. Chances are, if you’re surviving on red bull and adderall, you’re going to crash.

3. DO take breaks. Set a goal like reading 50 pages or studying for two hours, then take a break for 30 mins-1 hour. Catch up on an episode of the Real Housewives or go to the gym and get your cardio on. Finals are only stressful if you cram everything into the night before. Spread yourself out, do a little each day, and soon you’ll be making an A! (Hey, that rhymed).

Now that you’re prepared to ace the class…

LOOK HOT! Give your teacher one last reason to be impressed.

Do not be the girl in sweatpants looking like a hobo. Most likely, people will try to give you money (On second thought…). If you’re looking for comfort, rock a pair of body-con black leggings with a chunky wool tunic over it. Top it with a printed scarf and you’re good to go! Want some extra credit? Wear loose-fitting boyfriend jeans, a colored tank, and a graphic cardi (I love the girly polka dots). Flats are a good choice for either of these outfits because they’re comfortable, but put-together. Good luck on your exams! We know you’ll rock them!
