Top Musical Festivals to Hit Up Before You Become an Old Homebody Square

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UAB chapter.

College has taught me many things. 1) Yes, that third shot is a good idea to pull off this all-nighter, 2) College is NOTHING like they portray in the movies, and 3) Enjoy these next four years because they go by so quickly that before you know it, you’ll be walking across that stage into adulthood… yikes. So, in this time of freedom, be selfish, treat yo self!

One fun way to do that is to go out and explore! One specific thing I’ve always had in mind is going to the top music festivals in the country because you get to see multiple top named artists for one low (ish) price and you get to have fun in cool outdoor settings. So here are some of the top music festivals to enjoy before you go into deep adulting:

       1. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

This is one of THE top named music festivals in the country. Not only do you get to see celebrities off stage, but they’re also casually strolling around the grounds enjoying the festival with you. Also, there’s an awesome arts festival going on at the same time.

       2. Hangout Music Festival

Fun on the beach for three days with concerts going on every few minutes, what more could you ask for?

      3. New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival

This music scene includes historic jazz music played by the city’s best artists, interesting history, and best of all AMAZING food!

      4. Bonnarro Music and Arts Festival

This one is like the cheaper version of Coachella, but is still super fun! Be prepared for 4 days of non-stop music and it’s perfect those who love to camp.

     5. Austin City Limits

Located in one of the weirdest cities in Texas, this festival is one that has been home to top named artist such as Kendrick Lamar and Drake!

So get the gang and start saving up for these amazing events!
