Not Your Average Stepmom
Whenever someone thinks or hears the word stepmom they usually automatically envision the wicked stepmother that we see in Cinderella. She’s cruel, wicked, and cares nothing about our girl Cinderella and treats her poorly. However, life isn’t always like your typical fairytale. I can speak from personal experience that not all stepmoms are bad and that some can be more of a mother than the mother you have. Stepmoms never get the credit that they deserve, so here’s a few long over-due thank you’s.

After watching Cinderella I’m pretty sure almost every little girl in the world was terrified of ever getting a stepmom, I know I was. However, you can’t always believe what you watch in movies because believe it or not sometimes they lie and get the story all wrong. You turned out to be the complete opposite and instead of being wicked and cruel you are kind and loving.
Thank you for putting up with Dad:
You know as well as I do that dad isn’t always the easiest person to get along with, no offense pops you’re still the greatest. Even though we all have our moments, you’ve managed to give him the love that he needs and deserves, just like you do with the rest of the family. You’ve also served as a “middle man,” not only to settle anything at hand, but to unite us and remind us all of the important things in life. I couldn’t imagine a better person for him to have ended up with and am forever thankful.

Just like a biological mother, you’ve managed to win over all of my friends with your kindness and charm……and of course you’re amazing baking skills. Anytime they come over, you welcome them in with open arms and over an amazing home cooked meal, a loving smile, and an ear to listen to all our girl problems. Anytime any of them need you whether it be a random craving your delicious treats or just someone to give advice, you’re always there for them and for that they thank and love you…. but not as much as me.

In whatever I do you’re always the one to have my back 100 percent. Even the times where dad may not understand where I’m coming from or doesn’t completely agree, you’ve always got my back and best interest at heart. Anytime I’m having a problem or need some knowledge or wisdom on a situation you always help to the best of your capabilities and for that I’ am forever grateful.

The thought of my dad getting married was always a scary thought, but you’ve completely erased all my fears and obliterated my image on the word stepmom. You’ve made me feel like one of your own and love me like you love your own biological kids. In truth, at this point you aren’t even a stepmom in my eyes anymore and even though biologically you aren’t, in my mind and heart you are my mom.
