Favorite Summer ’16 Memory: My favorite memory this summer was getting to be the stylist and assistant director for a 90s themed promo video.
On Campus Involvment: Outside of being a Campus Correspondent for Her Campus UAB, I am the Communications Director for the UAB chapter of Women for Political Progress and secretary for the UAB chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Goals for HCUAB: My hope for HCUAB this year is to reach Pink level status (the highest chapter level). In only one semester of being active, we have been able to reach Platinum level! Overall, I’d like to increase our presence on campus and in the Birmingham community as well as connect to more UAB college women.
Where do you hope to be 5 years from now? Ideally, I’d like to be working in a creative environment. I consider myself a fashion enthusiat with an appreciation for different types of style. It would be a dream to consider myself a young professional in the fashion industry. I also must mention that it would be nice to have a really cute, chic apartment and a dog!
Advice for freshmen: There’s much advice to be given, but to keep it short, focus on what you’d like to get out of your college experience and plan for it. Be open and step out of your comfort zone because that’s the only way you will grow. Oh, and get involved!
