We all know that the main reason we turned the channel to Super Bowl LII this weekend was to watch the commercials (oh, and that awe-inspiring performance by JT). Here are the 10 most notable commercials and what I thought of them.

1) Weirdest Commercial

This TurboTax commercial will make your kids check twice under their beds. *Goes to check under bed.*

2) Funniest Commercial

As a person who is slightly addicted to the small chocolate candy M&Ms, I had a good laugh while watching this one.

3) Saddest Commercial

Let’s start the water works. Verizon’s All Our Thanks video honors the first responders of Hurricane Harvey. Watch the video here.

4) Best Beer Commercial

The Bud Knight. Every time they said “Dilly Dilly,” I said “Philly Philly.” I was obviously rooting for the Eagles.

5) Best Car Commercial

This commercial would have been funnier if the Minnesota Vikings were in the Super Bowl LII.

6) Oh, A Movie That’s Coming Out that I MUST go see? Don’t mind if I do.

Are you really a Star Wars fan if you aren’t excited for this movie?

7) Honorable Mention (We’ll get them next year, Giants).

Eli and Odell’s dance. Perfect beyond words.

8) Second Honorable Mention

Do you want to know how to make me cry? This is how you make me cry. Lauren Woolstencraft, Paralympic gold medalist, made an appearance in the aired commercial from Toyota.

9) Overall, My Favorite Commercial

Mikaela Shiffrin made an appearance in the Winter Olympics commercials. One phrase stuck with her throughout the commercial; “Always be faster than the boys.”

10) My Favorite Commercial from the Puppy Bowl That Needs Recognition

Who DIDN’T watch the puppy bowl? I was in tears at the end because they all got adopted! The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Commercial stole my heart, as Butch the dog learned to accept his mommy’s new boyfriend. My mom made the comment that this was going to be me and my dog- if I actually get a boyfriend. Thanks, Mom.

“Sometimes you want to have a very productive Saturday to feel that you are in control of your life, which of course you are not.” -Tina Fey, Bossypants Jamie Bridenstine... How do I even begin to explain Jamie Bridenstine. Jamie Bridenstine is flawless. She has two Fendi purses and a silver Lexus. I hear her hair's insured for $10,000. I hear she does car commercials... in Japan. Her favorite movie is Varsity Blues. One time, she met John Stamos on a plane. And he told her she was pretty. One time, she punched me in the face. It was awesome. Jamie Bridenstine is a 4th year undergrad at the University of Wyoming, earning her B.A. in Communication and a minor in Military Science. Her favorite move is Mean Girls... and any movie with Tina Fey in it. She enjoys deep conversations about politics, procrastinating on group projects, and watching The Office over and over again. Jamie has the cutest dog in the world, Timber, and is ready to take on the world after college. She will be heading up to Washington after graduation to pursue her career in the military... and hopefully her graduate degree in Public Relations.
Abbey is a senior at the University of Wyoming and is currently majoring in Journalism. She couldn't imagine a world without Jesus, coffee, The 1975, Twitter or her family. You'll usually find her at a concert or cafe somewhere, which is where she spends majority of her free-time. Talking to band members after their shows is a hobby, along with thrifting & indulging in all aspects of pop culture. After college, she plans to spend more time at concerts, getting paid to write about music and bands.
