Everyone loves Pinterest. The idea-sharing social media platform first launched in March of 2010 and since then, millions of users have fallen in love with the inspiring, fun, and creative articles and photos on the site. In case you totally missed the hype and never signed up, here are five reasons you should hop on the bandwagon and get a Pinterest account.

1. The Best Recipes

One thing is always on our minds: food. Whether you’re gluten-free, vegetarian, paleo, vegan, or a totally non-picky-eater, you can always find a recipe that will fit your dietary needs. Pinterest is full of bloggers and bakers who share their best recipes, and the more pins the link has, the better the recipe probably is. Some of my favourite recipes have been this vegan red curry and these funfetti cake batter cookies (drool).

2. Outfit Inspiration

Some days, I wake up with zero ideas about what to wear. For days like that, Pinterest is the perfect quick fix. If you have the app on your phone, be sure to screenshot a couple of outfits that catch your eye. This way, when you’re out shopping you can keep your eyes out for pieces that are similar. If you’re on a tighter budget and can’t go shopping, you can try to recreate the outfits you like with pieces already in your closet.

3. Beauty Hacks

Did I mention Pinterest is home to many bloggers? This is where they share their best beauty hacks, latest trends, and quick how-tos. And, okay, they might not always turn out the way you want them to (#pinterestfail), at least you’re stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying new things!

4. DIYs

Whether you’re looking to upcycle some old items around your place, want to save money on a gift, or just want to try something new, there are millions of ideas to choose from. Some are definitely easier than others, but unleashing your inner Martha Stewart is just part of the fun.

5. Fitness

With summer coming up, Pinterest has you covered for all of your workout needs. The infographics and workout plans are super helpful; just find one that seems manageable for you, print it out, and hang it on your wall. Instant motivation.
