Last week, I headed over to Old Vic where VicXposure was holding its annual art gala. VicXposure is a photography collective run by the students of Victoria College. They frequently organize photography-related events and workshops. The gala featured photos submitted by UofT students to a number of categories including nature, portraits, cityscapes, and Life at Vic. Winners were chosen among the photos submitted to each category – I even managed to score second place with a photo I submitted to portraits! The gala was a great opportunity to meet photographers and other new people alike.

My name is Mallika Makkar and I'm stoked to be part of the Class of 2018 at the University of Toronto, as well as photographer for HerCampus! Photography is one of my greatest passions. The majority of my work encompasses architectural, landscape, wildlife, portrait, and event photography; I believe that every photo should tell a story. My other interests include travelling, acting, reading, writing, dancing, and learning. I love all kinds of music (I probably know too much for my own good), and have too many favourite movies and TV shows to count.
