Hidden Gems Along Queen Street

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Toronto chapter.

Geologic, Gifts from the Earth

Just off of Queen St. and Spadina is a small shop with an earthy sign titled ‘Geologic – gifts from fhe world.’ Although it is a small shop (smelling strongly of incense), Geologic makes the most of it’s square footage. They sell a variety of things such as dream catchers, “healing crystals”, bracelets, tarot cards, and minerals.  Although some items don’t fit a student’s budget, most are gorgeous and afforable.

An amethyst necklace– you can choose your own mineral and chain.

The Black Market Vintage

When you go down the stairs into the basement of Queen Street, you enter The Black Market Vintage clothing store. They have an extensive collection of vintage clothing, accesories, and vinyls. They have quirky graphic tees and unique sweaters. Every item is different, and hours can be spent browsing through the store. The best part: it is budget friendly with most items around $10.

Kops Records

This two-level record shop on Queen Street has both new and vintage vinyls. For those who are interested in starting a vinyl colection, Kops has an extensive collection, and no matter what genre of music you listen to, they are bound to have it. On the first level, they have a huge collection of LPs and on the second level, they have many 45s. Prices depend on the record and its condition, but many vinyls are afforable.
