Hometown: Moscow

Favourite book: It’s tough to choose one. Let it be “Master and Margarita” by Bulgakov.

Favourite quote: “All we can know is that we know nothing. And that’s the height of human wisdom.”Leo Tolstoy

Favourite food: Peaches. And ice cream. And smoothies. And bagels. Ah, I love food.

What song could be considered the track of your life? JJ Grey & Mofro – “Sun is Shining Down” when I am feeling down, Aretha Franklin – “Think” when I am ready to conquer the world, and Florence and the Machine“Shake It Out” when I’m just fine.

Aspirations:  Career, family, making my life meaningful.

If you could have super powers, which ones would you like to have? Oh, I really would like to fly! It is so banal, but still. The Earth is too beautiful.

Who is your greatest influence? My father. Seriously.

Favourite movie: Oh lord, I have too many.  Probably “Annie Hall” by Woody Allen.

If you could give someone an advice, what would it be? Start thinking about your life early. Get a plan. You don’t have to follow it but have it, just in case.  And one additional thing: reflect more.

What’s your favourite thing about U of T?  The campus. It is awesome.

What do you want to do after university? I am planning on getting into financial industry. Capital Markets, to be exact.

Something you’re always looking forward to?  Time spent with somebody I love.

Goal for the 2014-2015 school year: I need to start running every morning. Really. Why does it sound so impossible to me?

Favourite colour: Navy Blue stuff dominates my wardrobe.

3 words that describe you best: Easy-going, energetic, determined

Lisa Chen

U Toronto

Lisa Chen is currently a second year student majoring in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (it's a thing - I swear!) with a minor in English and a joint minor with Singapore National University in Asian Culture and Literature. When she is not editing articles for HerCampus and marveling at the amazing content her writers produce, Lisa is an executive on the Arts and Science Student's Union (ASSU) where she represents and advocates for the interests of over 24,000 students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Lisa hopes to study law after graduation, preferably somewhere warm like California because Canadian winters are ridiculous and she loves high-waisted shorts. If you see her around campus, don't be afraid to come say hi! Especially if you love Adventure Time and Harry Potter as much as she does.
