So I know I’m a bit late to the party but I just stumbled on one of the best and most accurate videos on body contouring to ever grace the internet, and it’s from the lovely folks at Buzzfeed! If you haven’t had the chance to see it either, you can find it here. These women are hilarious and SO relatable, we should all just be bestfriends!
Body contouring, or to be more specific, boob contouring has apparently been around for a while (which is seriously recent news to me bcause I didn’t know you could do that until just a few days ago). If done right, it can basically be like an instant, non-evasive boob job, and hey, if cleavage is what you want, it can be yours with the help of a few beauty tools. Who knew you could get a breast augmentation without going under the knife?
I’ve decided to give it a try, mostly because I am very curious to learn about its effectiveness, and because sometimes a pushup bra just doesn’t do the job it needs to. Whatever size you wear, trying this out is well worth your while and not a waste of time, at all. Becky knows where it’s at ladies:
Here’s what I used to try it out:
1) Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette
I have so much love for this palette.
2) Flat Brush for Contouring
3) 2 Medium Sized Fluffy Brushes for Highlighting and Blending
And for reference, here’s a close up of the shade and light palette so you can see what shades I’m using:
Let’s Get Started!
Disclaimer: I watched the Buzzfeed video that I mentioned at the start of this blog, and a couple vides that I found on youtube before giving this a try. I did my research!
1) Whenever I contour, I like to start with the highlighting first. So, I took a fluffy brush and started to apply shade 2 to the part of my upper chest that was exposed. At this point, you want to start making the curve that you’ll use along with the contour to accentuate your chest. I also added a little bit of shade 1 to the middle aread to add more dimension and I applied some shade 2 to my collar bone, as you can see below. Please note that I’m going for a more natural look, which is why I chose to use powders instead of foundations or contour sticks. Not to mention, this method is a lot less messy!
2) Next, I took my flat brush and dipped it slightly into shade 6 and started to define the curves. I found that when contouring, you get a lot more control when you don’t put too much product onto your brush so I went in little by litter to make the contour darker. I also wanted to define my collar bone a bit more.
3) Take another fluffy brush and blend! You want to make sure that there are no more fine lines. Here is my before and after:
Verdict:
I believe, with the proper execution, this technique is definitely doable! It does get messy though so be prepared – perhaps, you should get something to cover your blouse so it doesn’t get stained with all the make up products you’ll be using. Overall, I am happily surprise that it turned out so well, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone doing this on a daily basis. Anyway, if you have ever wanted to try this technique, there is no better time like the present. Slay ladies and until next time lovelies!
