It’s summer! Time to let your hair down, hang out with friends and forget about anything school-related! Do you live in Ottawa or are here for the summer? Grab some friends, family or just yourself, hop in the car and check out these awesome road trips!

Montreal, Quebec

This one is an obvious one. Only 2 hours from Ottawa, Montreal is a vibrant and thriving city with lots to do. In the summer there are festivals such as the Jazz Festival or Just for Laughs, free festivals that allow you to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. The city has a great vibe that gives you the feel of a bigger city. You can also take a hike up Mount Royal or grab a drink in Old Montreal; the possibilities are endless!

Algonquin Park, Ontario

Looking to get outside this summer? Algonquin Park is a 3 hour drive from Ottawa and provides lots of hiking trails and campgrounds for the inner hiker in all of us. A few hours in this beautiful landscape will have you feeling like Ottawa is worlds away.

Vermont, USA

Looking to get farther away? Vermont is only 4 hours away and provides a wide span of activities. Visit the Ben & Jerry’s factory near Burlington, have a beach day on Lake Champlain or check out the ski resorts of Jay’s Peak or Stowe off-season. Just don’t forget to pack your passport!

Picton, Ontario

Want a beach vacation? Picton, Ontario has a small-town feel with lots of inns for staying. A short drive from there is Sandbanks, where you can feel like you’re on a beach in Florida without even leaving Ontario!
