8 Things You Missed at Cirque D’Illusion!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

For starters it was a great honour to be able to attend Cirque D’Illusion, which was in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation. Secondly, the 7 students who put this grand event together have seriously outdone themselves and I hope they get graded a 100 for how amazing this event was! For those who missed it, have you no shame?!?!? Let me recap for you collegiettes™ all the wonderful things you missed out on!

1)  The food was on point! Not only was the food made by the culinary students at Algonquin but they redefined what cocktail hour means!

2)  They had dancers! Like dammnnnnn it was so much fun just watching them!

3)  They had henna art! And proceeds went to the charity!

4)  They had packages based on what the guests paid for. They got a pampered night of manicure, pedicure, bra fitting session or had their hair done!

5)  There was a magic show by the famous Chris Pilsworth!

6)  There was a bra fitting session and coupons to La Senza being handed out!!

7)  The silent auction was the biggest one I had ever seen with items you can bid on. Items such as a signed football by the Ottawa Redblacks and a signed “Fault In Our Stars” novel were available!

8)  There were goodie bags and raffle tickets being handed out to win prizes!

Some wonderful comments guests had to say about the event were:

Lindsey Brunette: “It’s really fun! I think it’s worth the amount you pay for the ticket. It’s been relaxing and fun, the package I purchased was the larger one so I was able to get massage therapy, mani-pedi, bra fitting session and hair touch up.”

Josie Morris/Jessica Morris: “The Cirque D’Illusion was the main attraction for me, definitely all the henna painting, pedicures and wonderful food were a nice complete package for me. I would rate my overall experience a 9/10. It was really nice and all the ladies giving out the services were super nice.”

Brian Henry: “It’s been fabulous, it’s a unique idea and a great fundraiser tool to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation. It’s been a wonderful learning opportunity for the students of the program from event management. It’s different by not being your typical music event. It has entertainment, it has something for the ladies, there’s always something going on. There is food, activities, it’s a great networking and social environment. For those who weren’t here they missed a great event, the students whom organized this event are going to graduate and this event may never happen again so they definitely missed out and missed on an evening they may never be able to attend ever again. I would rate this event a 10/10”

There you have it collegiettes™!  Keep any eye out for future events and make sure you don’t miss out next time!
