Put your best foot forward this fall!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

You know the saying “you never know someone until you walk a mile in their shoes”? Well, it’s not always so comfortable. I have walked too many miles in uncomfortable shoes and have the blisters to prove it. I have mastered the art in finding the most fashion-forward sneakers for class and dressing them up so I don’t look like I am hitting the gym. Here are a few of my favorites for this fall:

Bucketfeet are canvas shoes designed by different artists around the world. Their goal is to connect people through art and support artists all over the globe. The attraction behind them is wearing art on your feet that blends comfort and creativity. You can see me around campus sporting the Pescao design, but some of my favorites include the Vidaboa from Brazil and Cuadras Pink from Florida. They come in slide on or lace-up sneakers. Bucketfeet range from $62-$68 and are guaranteed to be the next hot trend. You can get a pair at www.bucketfeet.com, Nordstrom, or Bloomingdales stores.

P.S. Want to be an entrepreneur? Bucketfeet is a great example of having a small idea and creating a booming business from it.

For all the short girls on campus, platform sneakers can you give an extra boost. Superga, Nike, and Ash all have platform and wedge sneakers this fall. They can be paired with jeans or leggings and are versatile enough to wear to class and to go out.

All the rage at New York and London Fashion Week this year was pairing gym shoes with fancy outfits. As seen on Cara Delevingne going to the Burberry fashion show and on Alexander Wang’s runway, these high-end brands use comfort shoes in making fashion. It may be time to ditch your nude pumps for new Nikes!
