Carlos Solis, Class of 2017

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

Name: Carlos Solis

Year: Sophomore

Major: Civil Engineering

Relationship Status: Single

Horoscope Sign: Gemini

Her Campus: What are you involved in on campus?

Carlos Solis: I’m on the University of Michigan Ballroom Dance Team. When I’m not studying for my engineering classes, you’ll find me refining my ballroom dancing skills. Did I mention we’re 11 time national champions? (;

HC: Where is the coolest place you’ve ever been?

CS: The coolest place I’ve ever been would have to be the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii. At 14,000 feet up, the sunset is heavenly, thousands of stars are visible and the clouds look like a floating ocean.

HC: What do you find most attractive about the opposite sex?

CS: Undoubtedly, her smile. The number one thing I always look for in a girl is what she’s passionate about. It could be art, dancing or any hobby, but she has to be passionate about something.

HC: What is the most unique thing about your personality?

CS: I’d have to say my uplifting spirit. There’s an intrinsic happiness to me, and people often tell me I can turn their bad day around.

HC: What is your biggest first date fear?

CS: My biggest fear would be a suddenly cancelled date! It’s rare, but unfortunately, it does happen.

HC: And to go along with that, what is your ideal first date?

CS: Ideal first date? Hmm. I’d take her bowling at my favorite place in Chicago and then to Giordano’s to have deep-dish pizza. From there, we would talk the night away walking under the city lights, and if things are going right, we’d pause for a moment to take in the city skyline and then of course, the first kiss!

HC: If you were a breakfast food, what would you be and why?

CS: I’d be all you can eat pancakes! With me, the good times just keep on rolling.
