5 Ways to Stay Warm on Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

Whether you will be spending Valentine’s Day on a date with someone you love or at a party with your friends that you love even more, it’s easy to picture that perfect outfit you can’t wait to show off. However, Michigan weather can sometimes put a damper on your dream outfit. Here are 5 ways to keep your Valentine’s outfit cute, classy, and warm

1. Colorful Tights

Staying warm has never been easier than this – add a pop of color to your outfit! Not only will bright red or purple tights keep you warm, but they will also help you stand out amongst other girls in black dresses and skirts.

2.  Knee High Socks

Pairing knee high socks with any dress doesn’t only keep your legs from freezing, but helps add the sexiness factor to your outfit as well. Check out different colors and styles at http://americanapparel.com

3. Fleece-Lined Pea Coat

So many of us find comfort in our big and bulky parkas, but ditch those shapeless coats this Valentine’s Day for a fleece-lined pea coat. Not only will it keep you toasty, but it will also keep you looking slim, classy, and accentuate your shape more than a parka jacket.

4. Winter Accessories

Pairing a beanie with a knit infinity scarf is one of the easiest ways to accessorize and stay warm at the same time. You can mix-and-match colors and styles and add your own unique style all while protecting yourself from the wind chill!

5.  Harem Pants

Who said that Valentine’s Day requires a dress or a skirt? Instead of deciding between staying comfortable in your yoga pants and squeezing into a dress, compromise with a pair of harem pants. Pair them with booties and a crop top and you can’t go wrong!
