We’ve all been there: you’re minding your own business, having fun with your friends, preparing for midterms and just generally enjoying fall in the Pioneer Valley…

Then it hits you:

It might be a stuffy nose and headache, it might be a stomach bug. Whatever the case, you feel like your body has betrayed you.

You try to get out of bed…needless to say, it doesn’t go well.

You think about all the stuff you have to do today…and decide to go back to sleep.

After spending most of the day in a sick, sleepy daze, you realize you’ve killed several hours (and maybe even a season or two on Netflix).

You decide maybe you should get some work done so it’s not a completely unproductive day.

Your roommate tries to comfort you, but you know they’re really hoping not to get whatever you have.

Let’s be honest, the only person you want is your mom. It doesn’t matter how old you are, she is the only one who automatically makes you feel better.

You face one of the most difficult questions a student must answer in their UMass career: to go to Health Services, or not to go to Health Services?

Unfortunately classes, meetings and life don’t stop just because you have.

The rest of the week is rough (to say the least), and even though you eventually make it to class, you aren’t really there.

Though it seems like it will NEVER arrive, you finally make it to the weekend. That means your bed, Netflix and a box of tissues within reach at all times.

Rest up, eat well, stay hydrated and take care of yourselves, Collegiettes! It’s never fun to be sick in college.
