The holidays are coming, and Orono is getting ready to celebrate! The Orono Village Association is hosting the Light Up the Night 2016 event in downtown TODAY, December 5th, starting at 4:30pm. The schedule, found on the event’s Facebook page, goes into detail about the plan to celebrate the winter holiday season:

 

4:30pm Gather at UCU Plaza

5:00pm Carol to the University Inn with OHS Chorus

5:15pm Tree Lighting – University Inn 

Santa at University Inn

Renaissance Singers 

5:30-7:30pm “Float Around Mill Street” Stationary Parade of Lights

7:00pm Fireworks (Launched from University Inn lawn – viewable from downtown)

 

The theme for “Float Around Mill Street” this year is holidays around the world and the winner will be decided based on who has the most money in jars at each float location. This is a great opportunity to do something different with your friends, so come to downtown Orono tonight and participate in the Light Up the Night event at 4:30!
