How to Survive Until Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

The fall 2017 semester is coming to a close whether we are ready or not! With just one week left of classes, finals will be here before we know it, but so will our long winter break. I know I have my eyes set on break which makes surviving this next week a hard challenge ahead. Below are a few tips on how to stay focused and survive just ONE more week of classes:

Make a list of everything you have due and when

Most classes require a group presentation, project, or paper of some sort before finals even begin. This next week means staying focused on the tasks this week before studying. Organization and planning is key!

Plan to do work in a place other than the library

Sometimes taking work off campus like Starbucks or Nest is more motivating than sitting in Folger. Order a fun holiday drink while you’re at it!

Plan a Christmas movie night in with the roomies

With school being such a focus right now, it’s hard to allow ourselves to get in the holiday spirit! Cozy up and take a break from work to enjoy a festive movie or listen to some Christmas music.

Make a list of everything you want to do over break

Sometimes setting our eyes on something more fun and relaxing can help us focus on the present and the tasks that need accomplished. Having something to look forward to makes pushing through the week even more rewarding.

Lastly, DON’T STRESS! You’ve got this and worked hard all semester. There is only a matter of days until this semester is in the books for good. Keep going!
