7 Songs To Get You Through The Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

February is the new beginning. You mean you were supposed to start your New Year’s resolutions on Jan. 1? Please. January was a month full of wine, cheesy bread and procrastination. Choose to start your resolutions this week. This playlist of seven songs will motivate you to do so.

1. Summer Sixteen- Drake

Drake’s newest song is the best way to start your week. You’ll be looking for revenge on your old January self that doubted you.

2. Work- Rihanna

Even though I have to Google the lyrics to understand what she’s saying, “Work” will literally put you into gear to get your work done.

3. No More Parties In L.A.- Kanye West

After switching back and forth, and then back again, between album titles, Ye has given us a lot to look forward to. “No More Parties” has an old-school hip-hop vibe that will complement your library study playlist.

4. Cheap Thrills- Sia

Sia’s latest album consists solely of self-written songs that were rejected by the biggest pop stars in the league. “Cheap Thrills” will help you get your stuff done during the week, so you can go out and let loose on the weekend.

5. Help Me Run Away- St. Lucia

Nothing makes me feel more like an angsty teenager than St. Lucia. Just picture yourself dramatically sprinting, with tears rolling down your face, on the treadmill in the gym. “Help Me Run Away” is the epitome of motivation.

6. Closer- Lemaitre

With the same electronic tones as Justice, Lemaitre’s song will bring you “closer” to checking off everything on your To-Do List. See what I did there?

7. I’m In Control- AlunaGeorge

As always, AlunaGeorge comes in clutch with the perfect song for the weekend. It’s time to celebrate the beginning of a fantastic year and a week of accomplishments!
