Although the UConn A Cappella Association‘s Spring 2016 Rush Concert was rescheduled due to snow, the new date ended up having a silver lining. The association decided to donate fifty percent of the proceeds to HuskyTHON. Before the last group went on the UCACA made an announcement that they would be donating $1,500 to the philanthropic event.
The show had a large crowd for the 15° weather. The show ran for an hour and a half, consisting of four coed, three all female and two all male groups. There are nine groups total in the UCACA: Rubyfruit, A Completely Different Note, Extreme Measures, A Minor, Notes Over Storrs, Chordials, Connmen, Rolling Tones and Drop the Bass. The groups played a variety of music such as “Ego” by Beyoncé, “Habits (Stay High)/Talking Body” by Tove Lo mashup, “Take it Easy” by The Eagles, “Wildest Dreams” by Taylor Swift, and “Little Toy Guns”by Carrie Underwood.
