A Thank You Note to the Best Four Years of Our Lives

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

As graduation is rapidly approaching for seniors, it is both an exciting and scary time. Classes are finally coming to an end which means no more late nights doing homework or early mornings getting ready for that 8am. We are done with school and ready to celebrate, graduate and enter the real world. But with the real world comes jobs and bills and rent. As excited as we are, there are so many things that we will miss about college and we have many things to thank UConn for.

To Our Favorite Roommates – Thank you to our roommates for helping us learn compassion, patience and communication. Thank you for being a friend to laugh with, a shoulder to cry on at any hour of the day and an ear to listen to our latest boy drama.

To Our Favorite Professors – Than you for making us love going to class and for helping us figure out what we are truly passionate about. In the throes of mid-semester stress, it was your encouragement and want for us to learn that pushed us through.

To Huskies Bar – Thank you Huskies for nights we will never forget and some we don’t remember. Thanks for the insanely cheap drinks, space for us to escape from frat parties and for opening the tavern. Most importantly, thank you for providing a place for us to laugh and have fun with our friends and forget about all of the work we were supposed to be doing.

To the Maintenance Workers and Dining Hall Employees – Thank you for feeding us for four years and for keeping our home clean. Although we may have complained about the quality of the food and bathrooms, we truly appreciate the hard work and many hours you put into making sure we had hot meals and clean showers after long days of class.

To Horsebarn Hill – Thanks for amazing views of UConn sunsets, refreshing walks, invigorating runs and an awesome place to sled on snow days.

To Our RAs – Thank you for always looking out for us and making sure we felt comfortable. Thank you for letting us complain about our annoying roommates and call you at 3am when our neighbors were being loud.

To the Clubs we were a part of – Thank you for being an escape from the stresses of classes and giving us a place to find our voice. Thank you for bringing us new friends with similar interests and for providing opportunities to learn, laugh, and become who we will be for the rest of our lives.

To Our Best Friends – Thank you for being there. Thank you for the good times, for the laughs and cries, for taking care of us after drinking a bit too much at the bar, and for always being down for a day to just hang out together. There is nothing we will miss more than having all of our best friends so close to us.

To UConn – Thank you for being the best university a student could ask for. Thanks for having the best mascots, best student and the most beautiful campus. The past four years are ones that we will treasure forever.
