RECAP: GUESS Watches: Be Bold, Be Blue

The students in MKTG3625: Integrated Marketing in the Digital Age, sure know how to create a buzz on campus.  Over the past week, these students have been seen around campus sporting flashy denim watches.  To hype students up, the class created a Facebook event which had over 1,000 invitees, to give students a heads up about what they could expect on Fairfield Way, this past Wednesday.

The UConn School of Business teamed up with GUESS Watches to bring students an exclusive showing of their Be Bold, Be Blue Collection. The event was a success, raising awareness about not only the brand but the new collection as well.  GUESS, commonly known for their jeans, was excited to bring this event to campus in an effort to raise brand awareness among a younger demographic.  What better way than to provide UConn students with an amazing opportunity to learn more about the brand and industry, all while checking out the stylish pieces from the collection.

As anticipated, the GUESS tents attracted many students eagerly waiting to check out everything there was to offer.  There were numerous free giveaways, tons of free food and refreshments, and the opportunity to win a GUESS watch.  Six lucky students, who correctly guessed the number of gumballs in a provided container, walked away with a free GUESS watch from the new Be Bold, Be Blue collection. 

For the students who weren’t as lucky to take a watch home for themselves, had the chance to try on and take photos with pieces from the new collection.  For students interested in hearing more about the brand, there were numerous GUESS exhibits and opportunities to learn more about the industry and upcoming innovations in watch design.  All in all, this event was a huge success and I’m sure all the students that stopped by can vouch for that!
