When Becky isn’t busy in class, you can find her at her new clothing store in Fayetteville, Now and Then Boutique. She is young, inspiring, and definitely has a bright future! What has your experience been like so far with owning your own boutique?
My experience with owning my own business has been amazing so far! I love everything I get to do, and I literally wake up every morning excited to go to work. I feel like most girls my age can’t say that.
Describe your style.
I really love everything! I feel like I imitate Aria from PLL a lot. My style is bold. I’m not afraid to wear something that will attract attention. For New Years, I found this great 80’s dress at Goodwill. I sewed up the bottom to make it shorter. But it had a thousand sequins and shoulder pads! I was in love!
Describe your dream career.
My dream career, would be to own a boutique that I designed all of the pieces. I always have different ideas running through my head of unique fashions I can’t find anywhere. Right now I would just love for my business to be successful in bringing in clothes customers want, but haven’t seen in other places.
Do you have any styling tips that you would like to share?
1. Don’t be afraid to try new things! Being a trendsetter is a great feeling. It’s way better than seeing someone with the same outfit as you. If you see a trend you love, try it. Fashion is something you can totally play around with, it’s an art form, and it shows the true you.
2. Don’t be afraid to mix and match! You can pair prints, like stripes and polka dots together, to make an interesting outfit that is so stylish!
3. Everyone’s body is different, but one thing I think a lot of college girls don’t know is a higher rise is your best friend! Mid-rise jeans hide your love handles, make you look taller, and will show off your great backside, plus it’s the most comfortable thing in the world! You never have to worry about your underwear showing, having a fat day, or looking like an oompa loompa which is the headaches hip huggers give you.
