Maddie Johnson, University of Arkansas Junior, is the epitome of class and sass. Born and raised in Wildwood, Missouri, she still has the hometown girl charm. Her ambition is an attribute that will take her places that others only dream of going.
Majoring in communications with a double minor in marketing and business management, Maddie has a full schedule with just academics, yet is still heavily involved on campus. She currently holds the Vice President II – New Member Coordinator position within her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. In this position she guides the new members through their transition to college and sorority life, alongside her best friends, Delaney Dudenhoeffer and Emily Ellis.
“Not only do I educate them about the foundations and values of our sorority, but I also get to know each of the 129 girls, learn about their personalities and get to know their hearts,” Maddie said.
As if being involved with Zeta Tau Alpha wasn’t enough, Maddie also holds the Vice President position of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter at the U of A. This organization is one in which has greatly benefitted her and aided her discovery of what exactly she would like to do after graduation.
Ultimately wanting to pursue a career in Public Relations, recently landing a social media internship at The Houndstooth Press was a dream come true. Working within the custom t-shirt printing and embroidery side of the company, she uses Instagram and Twitter as well as other social media to promote and bring in business.
It may seem as though Maddie has no time to sleep, much less have any free time. When she does have some down time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, going to Bible study, being outdoors and just being active. She loves her Doxipoos, Phil and Lola (both siblings), like her own children.
“I named him Phil because I think it’s so funny when dogs have people names.” she laughed.
When asked what is going to be her biggest adjustment post graduation from the U of A, she said “I’m going to miss being so close to my friends. Knowing that I’m no longer a door down or five minutes down the road, but instead a plane ride away is going to be hard to adjust to! The people I’ve met here have changed my life for the better, and I am so thankful for the lessons they’ve taught me and the experiences we’ve shared together.”
