Campus Celeb: Kelsey Furr

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arkansas chapter.

Our Campus Celeb this week is none other than THE Kelsey Furr. You might recognize her as part of the McFarland Campaign in the 2014-15 student body election, in fact you probably have a t-shirt with her name on it! However, Kelsey has held numerous leadership positions leading up to her current title as ASG Secretary.

Kelsey is a Senior from Van Buren, Arkansas. Her major is Social Work, and she is an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha. Within Zeta she has served on their Executive Board since her sophomore year. As a sophomore she was responsible for sending out important information to the entire chapter on a daily basis as ZTA Secretary. After her rein as secretary, her sisters nominated and voted for her to be Vice President her junior year. As VP Kelsey presided over the Programs Council and wrote annual reports for Zeta Tau Alpha’s National Council.

When you started to think she couldn’t be any more involved, Kelsey surprises us! Aside from her leadership positions, Kelsey has been involved in a plethora of clubs and organizations on campus including Booster Club, Student Alumni Association, Order of Omega, Mortar Board, Who’s Who Among College Students, and most recently has been nominated for Homecoming Court. It is all of these extra curricular activities and leadership positions that made Kelsey the ideal candidate for an ASG position.

Kelsey is without a doubt an incredible attribute to the ASG council. As our standing student body Secretary, Kelsey is in charge of all marketing, communication, and publicity for ASG. Through social media Kelsey keeps our campus in the loop with important information and announcements, as well as keeps us educated and interested about ASG.

It is Kelsey’s involvement, experience, and leadership that made her our Campus Celebrity! Keep up the hard work and good luck in the 2014 Homecoming Court selections!
