Tulane’s Class of 2012 To Be Honored at the Home of the Saints

Posted May 6 2012 - 11:15pm

On Saturday, May 19th, Tulane will honor this year’s graduates from each of the university’s schools and colleges. The Unified Commencement Ceremony will take place at the Mercedes Benz Superdome and begins at 9:00 am. It will feature this year’s keynote speaker, Lisa Jackson, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the first Tulane graduate to serve as keynote speaker at the Unified Commencement. The event will also feature the Pomp and Circumstance march that is traditionally played at graduations but at this ceremony, it’s said to have a New Orleans twist.

Even though the event does not begin until 9 am, graduating seniors are asked to get there no later than 8 am. Parking will be available at the Superdome for 10 dollars but there will also be a free shuttle service from the Reily Student Recreational Center.

Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony so anyone is welcome to take part in this exciting event and cheer on the class of 2012 as they wave goodbye to Tulane.
