1. It only comes once a year– Obviously the beginning of carnival season comes with the excitement of the parades, beads, and endless adventuring across NOLA. But, let’s be real- nothing is more exciting then having a new sweet treat to have for a limited time only!
2. It’s just so pretty– Look at those sprinkles… that perfectly placed icing… and please, tell me that there’s a prettier type of cake than this?? Not possible
3. It’s available– King Cake will never turn you down when you’re sad or lonley. It’s waiting around every corner of New Orleans to give you some love and affection when you need it most. Plus, who needs a Valentine when King Cake is here all of February?
4. The baby– No other quality baked good comes with the excitement and anticipation of finding a toy inside… especially one that brings you a lil bit of good luck and a reason to buy the next cake (like you actually needed one)!
5. So. Many. Varieties.– Chocolate King Cake? check. King Cake Crossaints? check. Even Kosher King Cake? yup. (Get it at our very own Tulane Hillel)
6. It’s authentic– King Cake is just another perk that comes with going to school in this beautiful, amazing city. What other school can say they have an entire season devoted to partying, complete with its own cake??
7. King Cake= Giant Cinnamon Bun– Who needs Cinnabons when you can have a better, way bigger, and all around more amazing version? No one. It instantly can be a grab and go breakfast, a desert, an afternoon snack.. the opportunities are endless!
8. King Cake Accessories- Literally, King Cake can be worn around your neck as a reminder of its deliciousness all day long. Is anything more trendy than a King Cake ring this season? I think not.
9. It stays humble– Through it all, King Cake sticks to it’s delcious, sweet, roots. No matter what, the classic King Cake will always be around for us to enjoy! YUM!
