Top 10 NOLA Restaurants to Try (Student Edition)

Tulane academics are tough, but choosing a place to eat when you’re done with all that studying is, arguably, even tougher. There are so many different establishments to try, and on top of that, a copious amount of unique dishes to pick from. It can be overwhelming to say the least. But fear not, because Tulane’s campus is crawling with knowledgeable foodies who are more than willing to help. With the help of these local connoisseurs a list has been born, consisting of the Top Ten restaurants in our neighborhood that all students must try. Let the list commence…

1. Cowbell: “Handmade. Simple. Delicious.”

Dish to try: The Mac n’ Cheese

 

2. Boucherie: “Contemporary southern cuisine.”

Dish to try: Boudin Balls with a Garlic Aioli

 

3. Jacques Imos : “Real Nawlin’ food”

Dish to try: Carpet Bagger Steak with oysters, carmelized onions, blue cheese, & tasso hollondaire

 

4. Delachaise: “wine & food.”

Dish to try: Chocolate Molten Soufflé

 

5. St. James Cheese Company: “We love cheese”

Dish to try: Brie de Meaux Sandwich

 

6. Clancys: “Redefining the New Orleans Neighborhood Restaurant.”

Dish to try: Fresh Asparagus Salad with romano cheese, prosciutto, and shaved red onions

 

7. Bootys street food: “We curated flavors & inspiration along the way… and brought it all the way back.”

Dish to try: Grilled Octopus Skewers served with gochujang

 

8. Atchafalaya: “New Orleans’ only five ‘A’ restaurant”

Dish to try: Steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels
