Street Art NOLA Style

By now, I'm sure you've come across the New Orleans Water Meter logo a few times. Perhaps you've seen it on a t-shirt or a necklace--maybe you even have a shirt bearing this symbol of NOLA pride. Well, what you may not have known before is that the New Orleans Water Meter actually did originate as a water meter box. Many companies have recognized this sign as unique and started selling it on their merchandise. This cover, first turned into a sign of pride for New Orleans, has now been converted into street art! If you've taken the walk from campus to Starbucks, as I'm sure you have--it is finals week after all, then you've probably stumbled across one of the decorated water meter covers that have taken over this area. Try not to rush past them on your way to get your coffee next time--this street art is taking NOLA water gate pride to the next level!
