10 Life Lessons from John MayerBy April 30, 2013 - 11:57am Anyone who knows me at least decently well knows about my obsession with John Mayer. Needless to say, I was beyond ecstatic when I saw him at Jazzfest this past Friday. So, in honor of the 5 hours I waited to see him Friday afternoon, here are some of the life lessons I’ve learned from John Mayer. 1) Go easy on you. When things go wrong, remind yourself it’s your first time through this life. 2) Not everyone is going to like you, and that’s okay. 3) Think before you speak, and know when to shut up. 4) Make friends with what you are. 5) Whenever they say it can’t be done, remind them that they make a jellybean that tastes exactly like popcorn. 6) It’s okay to deserve happiness. The Current: Reese Witherspoon’s Embarrassing ArrestBy April 23, 2013 - 10:53am Reese Witherspoon is admired for her stellar roles in all sorts of films, from the likes of “Cruel Intentions” to “Sweet Home Alabama” to “Water with Elephants”. She has grown as an actress and is generally seen as a good role model—a rare thing in Hollywood these days. That is, until her recent arrest with her husband, Jim Toth. Toth was taken in for suspicion of driving under the influence, while Witherspoon was accused of disorderly conduct. Allegedly, when the police officer pulled the couple over early Friday morning and questioned Toth, Witherspoon pulled the “celebrity card”. She repeatedly harassed the policeman asking if he knew her name. These incidents led the couple to a short stay in the slammer.... |

Tulane Collegiates’ Wish-ListBy April 16, 2013 - 11:35am · An open cubicle in Howie-T or breakout room in the Business School. · Bruff to magically transform into a combination of Camellia Grill, St. James Cheese Company, and Felipe’s. · Free tickets to JazzFest. · Boot happy hour specials all week. · $100 more WaveBucks. · No commercials on Spotify. · Looking great in all the photos you were tagged in from last night. · Getting into all the classes you want next semester. · Just one state school-style football tailgate. · Less humidity. · No golf carts allowed on campus (those beeping sounds drive me crazy, and I know I’m not the only one). The Current: Amanda Bynes’ Erratic BehaviorBy April 14, 2013 - 11:16am Amanda Bynes displayed her comedic talents at a young age, starring in my favorite television show as a child. “The Amanda Show” showed a cute and quirky actress with the ability to make viewers of all ages laugh. Her graduation from that show to the series “What I Like About You”, as well as movies such as “She’s the Man” and “Hairspray”, all indicated a positive trajectory that Bynes was heading in as an actress. Best of New Orleans: Making the Most of the SunshineBy April 9, 2013 - 11:59am I don't know about all of you, but putting on shorts for the first time in ages was arguably one of my favorite moments this week. Sitting out in the sun writing this instead of bundled up in an oversized sweatshirt in a Howie-T cubicle has made me realize all the amazing things that come along with living in New Orleans during one of the most beautiful times of the year. That's why I've compiled a list of the five things that I'm going to do before its too hot to tear myself away from the air conditioning!
