It’s carnival season once again down here in Louisiana which
can only mean it’s time for beads, parades, and oh yeah…dogs wearing costumes? This weekend I volunteered with the Mystical Krewe of Barkus, a parade krewe centered around man’s best friend. There were dogs wearing tutus, streamers, boas, beads, and basically any costume you could think of. Dogs travels from near and far to dress up and walk in the parade downtown. These particular puppies were dressed as another one of man’s best friends, in New Orleans at least, crawfish! Crawfest may not be until April, but these dogs are ready for it. Find out more about Barkus from their website. Have a good Mardi Gras y’all!
