Each year the Newcomb College Institute sponsors their Big Sister/Little Sister program, which is geared towards matching up freshman girls with an older female student who can act as their mentor. The Big sister is meant to be a person to whom their littles can go if they have any trouble adjusting to college life or just want some advice on what to do at night, which classes to take, etc.
This Newcomb tradition is becoming more and more popular each year, so new big sisters are constantly needed. If you are interested in registering and becoming a mentor, simply e-mail nsp@tulane.edufrom your Tulane account by June 1st and be sure to include your full name. Once you are enrolled in the system, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire so you can be matched with a girl with whom you have something in common.
This program is a great way to give back to the Tulane community and make a new friend! For more information on this and other Newcomb student programs, go to http://tulane.edu/newcomb/student-programs/aboutus.cfm.
