This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

If you’re experiencing a post-Mardi slump, the month of March is on its way to rejuvenate your NOLA spirit with its awesome festivals.

1. St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday, March 14th

If Mardi Gras wasn’t enough parading for you, make sure to check out the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, beginning at 1 pm on the corner of Felicity and Magazine.

2. Congo Square Rhythms Festival -Saturday, March 21- Sunday, March 22

This free festival features music from the cultures that influenced the unique music scene of NOLA, including many Caribbean and African musical groups. Special appearances by New Orleans brass bands and Mardi Gras Indians will also be found, so join the fun from 11 am – 7:30 pm in Armstrong Park.

3. New Orleans Spring Fiesta – Monday, March 23- Monday, March 30

The gates of many New Orleans’ homes will open for the public in this week-long event, allowing visitors to see magnificent gardens, courtyards, and interiors of homes that we only wish could be ours.

4. Tennessee Williams New Orleans Literary Festival – Wednesday, March 25-Monday, March 30

Embrace your inner nerd at this festival, which includes book fairs, panel discussions, re-enactments of Williams’ classics, lectures, and literary tours throughout the city. Keep an eye out for celebrities at this one – they tend to be spotted yearly.

5. New Orleans FoodFest – Saturday, March 28 – Sunday, March 29

For the foodies in all of us, taste your favorite classic American dishes made by cooks from all over the country. Located in the French Market, there is no admission fee – just you and your hunger.
